Re: Lampard new Chelsea manager - 3 year deal
In fairness I can see why he was appointed, he did a great job at Derby.

He took over a club that finished 6th the season before having lost in the playoffs, called in some favours from the big clubs with a load of loanees and ended up finishing 6th, and losing in the playoffs.

Progress.

Couldn't give a fuck about Chelsea but good luck to him. Yeah it's a bit jammy but good luck to the lad, I wish him no ill, say what you like about him but the name Lampard is an important one for our club.

Anyway, this would have pissed off John Terry no end and it's worth it for that alone.

Hope they struggle right from the off. Love him to be bottom half all season.

Can’t see it though, I think he’ll do a great job.

Note the job title ‘head coach’.

Be interesting to see if he has full control over transfers.

It seems a perfect fit. Club hero. Cutting his teeth in management. Chelsea in transition with transfer embargo starting soon.

It could be a lean period for them and Frank has been brought in to keep the natives calm if that does happen. They won't turn on him.

But I hope he fails catastrophically as its Chelsea and I want all their managers to fail catastrophically. The fact that its the fat faced badge kissing cunt would make that failure even more pleasing.

Big mistake i think because although they didn't like sarri, he won a trophy and got them in the CL. I can see him struggling because the expecation will be high and he just doesn't have the experience. He should have taken the job a few years down the line.

Brilliant news.

When does it end happily for ANY Chelsea manager? Fat Frank has further to fall than the rest of them combined.

Genuine world class managers have fucked up there and they have picked their new one out of sentiment? Mad decision. I hope it ends messily and unhappily for everyone connected to that plastic, joke club.

Home tie is not till April.

Unfortunately he is unlikely to be around by then.

Failed to get to promoted in his first managerial job, now manager of Chelsea?

Tears this could end in, as Yoda would say

Wouldn't it be bracing if he walked after our game though...

I actually think he'll do alright. Although I hope it all goes horribly wrong

Re: Lampard new Chelsea manager - 3 year deal
No decent manager, would have gone to Chelsea with the transfer ban, losing Hazard and the way there last managers have been treated. They needed someone to keep the fans happy, what better way than to get a respected explayer .

Lato 7:32 Thu Jul 4
Re: Lampard new Chelsea manager - 3 year deal
They tried this line before giving the job to former Chelsea legend Roberto Di Matteo. He did win the Champions League (albeit) with someone else's team. Then gave him the the tin tack shortly after.

I can see this ending badly for Lampard.........at least I hope it doe's!

Sven Roeder 7:38 Thu Jul 4
Re: Lampard new Chelsea manager - 3 year deal
As have said before it’s going to be a nasty shock to realise just how good a player Hazard was/is and how much they relied on him.
Hopefully Lampards reign is an UNMITIGATED disaster from start to finish.

Re: Lampard new Chelsea manager - 3 year deal
I think we should refer to Frank Lampard's Chelsea from now on.

If it goes horribly wrong it will get on Chelsea fans' nerves, especially if we start early, if it doesn't go horribly wrong, we can stop
